Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of Spectra. By using it you agree to them. We’ve kept them short and in plain English.

What Spectra is

Spectra sends fictional order notifications to devices you set up yourself, for motivation and fun. No real store, order, customer, card or payment is involved. Spectra isn’t affiliated with Shopify, Stripe or any other commerce or payment company.

Using it honestly

Don’t use Spectra to mislead anyone. In particular, you may not:

• present notifications, screenshots or recordings from Spectra as real sales, income, or proof of a business’s results;
• use them in scams, fake testimonials, “get rich” pitches, investment offers or anything similar;
• send notifications to devices that aren’t yours;
• try to break, overload, scrape or get around the limits and security of the service.

We may suspend or delete setups that break these rules. Credits in a suspended setup for these reasons aren’t refunded.

Who can use it

You need to be at least 13 to use Spectra. To buy credits you need to be an adult who can enter a contract, or have a parent or guardian’s permission.

Your dashboard and sign-in

There are no passwords. Your dashboard opens from the device you set it up on, from its private link, or by signing in with Google or with a link we email you. Anyone with your dashboard link can open your dashboard, so keep it to yourself. You’re responsible for what happens through your link and your sign-in methods.

Credits

• Each notification uses one credit, test orders included. If a notification fails to deliver, its credit comes back.
• New setups get a small number of free credits. We can change or end free credits at any time.
• Credits you buy don’t expire while Spectra is running. They have no cash value, can’t be exchanged or transferred, and only work in the dashboard they were added to.
• We may change pack prices. Changes never affect credits you already have.

Payments

Credit packs are one-time purchases, charged in US dollars when you buy them. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card number. Any applicable taxes are added at checkout. Refunds follow our Refund policy.

How reliable it is

Notifications are delivered by Apple, Google, Mozilla and other push services, and your device decides how to show them. We work to keep Spectra running smoothly, but we can’t promise every notification arrives, or arrives on time. We may change, pause or discontinue features. If we ever shut Spectra down for good, we’ll refund unused credits you paid for.

Disclaimers

Spectra is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll let you know in the app or by email if you’ve saved one. Continuing to use Spectra after a change means you accept it.
