Privacy Policy

Spectra collects as little as it can. We don’t run ads, we don’t use tracking or analytics tools, and we never sell your information.

What we store

• Your device’s push subscription: the address your browser gives us so we can send notifications to it. Without it, Spectra can’t work.
• Your settings: order amount, how many, how often, starting order number, dashboard name, credit balance and theme.
• Your order history: the notifications Spectra sent you. The customer names and card numbers in them are made up.
• Your email, if you add one, to send you sign-in links, and the newsletter if that’s on.
• Your Google account ID and email, if you connect Google, so you can sign in with it. We only ask Google for these two things.
• Payment records, when credit packs launch: what you bought and when. Stripe handles your card; we never see the number.

What your browser keeps

Your browser stores your dashboard link and a few preferences (like theme, chart range and sound) on your device so Spectra opens where you left off. During Google sign-in we set one short-lived cookie (10 minutes) that ties the sign-in to your browser. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.

Other information

Like any website, our servers see your IP address. We use it briefly to stop abuse (for example, limiting how often setups can be created or sign-in emails sent), and it may appear in our hosting provider’s logs, which are kept for a short time. Your device also tells us its time zone so “today” on your dashboard matches your day.

How we use it

To run Spectra: send your notifications, show your dashboard, let you sign in, keep the service secure, and answer you if you contact us. If the newsletter is on, we send occasional product news to your saved email. You can turn it off anytime in Settings or with the unsubscribe link in any newsletter.

Services we rely on

• Render hosts Spectra and its database.
• Push services (Apple, Google, Mozilla, Microsoft) deliver notifications to your device.
• Google handles “Continue with Google”, if you use it.
• An email provider sends sign-in links and the newsletter.
• Stripe will process payments when credit packs launch.
• Google Fonts and jsDelivr serve our fonts and the world map on your dashboard, so they see your IP address when those load.

We share only what each one needs to do its job.

How long we keep it

We keep your setup for as long as it exists. Order history is trimmed automatically to your most recent orders. When you delete your setup (Settings → Delete setup), its data is removed right away; copies in backups are gone within 30 days.

Your choices

In Settings you can change or remove your email, turn off the newsletter, disconnect Google, or delete everything. You can also email us to ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it. Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU), you may have additional rights, and we’ll honor them.

Children

Spectra isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top, and tell you in the app or by email if the change is significant.
